The death of handwriting

My handwriting is lousy, which I put down to my RSI :-). But it appears I’m not the only one.

Paper Notebooks suck for a whole variety of reasons, and this is just another nail in the coffin. What’s the point in writing something no one can read (or find!)?

I’m not saying they are totally obselete – in certain circumstances for certain people a Paper Notebook is more appropriate than an Electronic Lab Notebook. But as each generation of scientists graduates and enters the workforce they become increasingly irrelevant. I’d be surprised if Paper Notebooks survive the graduation of the Facebook & Twitter generation.
